This pretty, vintage 3 tier wedding cake was created in vanilla buttercream.  The cake was piped in a ruffle on the top and bottom tiers and on the center tier we created a textured look.  The satin ribbon is in a sage green adorned with gumpaste and shimmered gardenia flowers.

Purple and White Wedding Cake and Cupcakes Keeneland Horse Park Kentucky

Cheeta Print Luggage Birthday Cake Housewives of New Jersey Danville KY December 5, 2010

We created this cheeta print luggage piece for a birthday party.  The cake was chocolate with ganache filling and iced with a chocolate buttercream before it was covered in the cheeta print marshmallow fondant. The birthday girl is a fan of Housewives of New Jersey so we created the luggage tag and printed the title of the show on it.

Moroccan Wedding Cake Purple Bronze Ivory Andover Golf Club Lexington KY October 18, 2010

This beautiful Moroccan inspired wedding cake was purple, bronze and Ivory.  Each tier was shimmered.  The second tier was adorned with crystals.  The third layer had handpainted gold diamonds, with small pearls.  The bottom tier was purple shimmer with a fondant draping. 

The cake was several flavors including white chocolate with raspberry filling, Italian Cream and Champagne. 

The reception was held at the Andover Country Club in Lexington, KY.

Whimsical Blue Gold Fish Wedding Cake Danville Kentucky

This whimsical marshmallow fondant covered wedding cake with cute gold fish and bubbles was a donation to an anonomous Ephriam McDowell patient.  A representative came to us and asked if we would create the wedding cake for a patient who had been in the process of planning her wedding when she was diagnosed with cancer.  The staff at the hospital were able to make all of the arrangements for the wedding  in  just a few days.  A Lasting Impression created the flowers for the ceremony.

Fondant Spiderman Inflatable Slide Birthday Cake – Richmond, KY

We created this cake for a brother and sister’s birthday party.  The sister turned 19 and the little brother was turning 4.  Since their birthdays are so close together they decided to have one big party.  Primary colors were used to decorate.  The little boy wanted a spiderman cake and the sister was having an inflatable slide for her friends, so we incorporated both into one cake.  The cake was white with a fresh raspberry filling and it was iced with vanilla buttercream.

This 57 Chevy 2 door sedan cake was created for the 50th wedding anniversary of a Harrodsburg, KY couple. The cake was ordered by their daughter’s as a surprise for the party. The car is coral and ivory and is white cake with a blackberry filling. The car was constructed out of cake and then covered in fondant. The chrome parts of the car were hand painted with silver luster dust.

This is the second tiered special occasion cake we have created for Ace Weekly a free newspaper in Lexington, KY. This time the celebration was for the issue of “The Best of Lexington”. The fondant covered cake was 4 tiers of chocolate cherry cake with a chocolate ganache, a strawberry cake with strawberry filling, carrot cake with a cream cheese filling and a spice cake with a fresh apple filling with a cream cheese icing. The silver on the cake was all hand painted.

Create A Cake Party – Girl Scout Troop 858 June 3, 2009

I had the opportunity to assist Girl Scout Troop 858 in obtaining their “Cake Artist” junior badge. We had a wonderful time creating individual cakes in all different color combinations and decorating. Once the girls finished their own cakes they assisted me with making marshmallow fondant roses to put on the cake for their parents.

The group learned about how buttercream icing is made and colored, usage of decorator bags and tips, cake baking secrets, cakes of the world, what items are used in a bakery and so much more.
