Create A Cake Party – Girl Scout Troop 858 June 3, 2009

I had the opportunity to assist Girl Scout Troop 858 in obtaining their “Cake Artist” junior badge. We had a wonderful time creating individual cakes in all different color combinations and decorating. Once the girls finished their own cakes they assisted me with making marshmallow fondant roses to put on the cake for their parents.

The group learned about how buttercream icing is made and colored, usage of decorator bags and tips, cake baking secrets, cakes of the world, what items are used in a bakery and so much more.

Many thanks to all of the girls and Christine for the opportunity to be apart of your learning experiences.

I am surprised they weren’t afraid – being that you BAKE BROWNIES! BooHaHaHaHa! 😀

What a blast our Junior Girl Scouts had earning the “Cake Artist” badge with Pam!! The badgework is a council’s own patch available through Kentuciana’s Council In KY. I would recommend Pam wholeheartedly! She is obviously an accomplished baker, but she was equally fanastic explaining everything to the girls. Many of my Girl Scouts are hooked on the Food Network cake TV shows so this cake party was particularly fun for them. The girls each decorated their own 6 inch cake and they came out darling!! They were so proud of themselves. Thanks to Pam, my daughter has not stopped baking since our cake party!
