Sunflower Wedding Cake

A very pretty cake for a summer wedding.  The cake was iced in a textured vanilla buttercream and adorned with fresh sunflowers from the bride’s mother’s garden.  The cake flavor was a white cake with a refreshing lemon curd filling.   The wedding and reception were held on the family’s farm.  The meal was catered by Lucky Dog BBQ of Perryville.  The wedding planner was Michelle Landers of Weddings by Michelle in Lexington, Kentucky.

Jungle Birthday Cake – Perryville, KY October 7, 2009

The ivory buttercream cake was designed for a wedding that was held at the Danville Country Club in Danville, KY. The flowers were supplied by the bride and we designed the floral arrangement for the cake. The flowers are large roses with just a touch of pink and the calla lillies were a dark purple, which accented the black satin ribbon beautifully.

The wedding cake is of varied shapes, off-set, covered in marshmallow fondant and accented with huge Stargazer Lillies from 4 Toad Farms. The design is composed of fondant polka dots and paisley shapes that have royal icing piping to add detail. The ribbon is made of fondant. The layers of the cake are of varying flavors and fillings.
